The city police (crime wing) on Friday arrested a person, who was allegedly involved in a series of chain snatchings at different places. Apart from a two-wheeler, the police seized about 116.2 grams of gold from his possession.
The arrested person has been identified as Dukka Jayaram (27), a native of Srikakulam district.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) G. Naganna said the accused was involved in two cases of chain snatching under Kancharapalem police station area and two other cases under Gajuwaka police station area. The DCP said that the accused had been committing crimes to earn easy money.
