BHUBANESWAR: The Higher Education Department on Monday released the deadline and guidelines for the second round of spot admissions in vacant PG seats of state public universities and autonomous colleges for the academic session 2021-22. Admission will run from Wednesday till December 30.
On finding that even after the first few rounds of admission some seats were left to be filled, the government came up with the idea of a new round of process for those who have secured rank in Common PG Entrance Test (CPET)-2021. Has attained. , Students who were not able to get selected earlier can apply now.
The Common Application Form (CAF) will be available online on 15th December from 11 AM onwards. The deadline for providing new options in the CAF is December 19. Merit list for PG admission will be published on 22nd December at 2 PM.
Those who make it to the merit list will have to report to their colleges or universities on December 23 and December 24. The entire admission process will be completed by 30th December.
As per the guidelines, candidates are advised to check university or college-wise vacant seat status and cut-off marks on the SAMS website and choose judiciously while applying for admission to universities or colleges. The selection will be made on the basis of merit (career marks along with CPET marks) only.
About 2,800 PG seats are vacant in various state public universities and degree colleges across the state, officials said. Over 2,700 seats were filled during the first round of admissions. The state has a total of 14,968 PG seats in 59 degree colleges and 14 public universities. Universities have 8,410 PG seats, while colleges have an admission capacity of 6,590 students.
