Odisha to start morning classes in schools from tomorrow

The Naveen Patnaik government of Odisha, battling the severe heat wave conditions, has decided to go ahead with its earlier decision to start schools from Monday.

BP Sethi, Principal Secretary, Department of School and Mass Education, said that the government has decided to cut summer vacation To provide adequate opportunities to the students to make up for the loss in studies due to closure of schools due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement, Sethi said, “As revealed by IMD, the temperature at any station in Odisha till 8.30 am is around 32 to 34 degree Celsius during May, so by 9 am it will cross 35 degree Celsius. Shouldn’t.” News agency PTI reported that the temperature will drop from Sunday.

Earlier, the Department of School and Mass Education in a notification had rescheduled the teaching timings from 6 am to 9 am in all schools with effect from May 2, 2022.

The notification said, “After careful consideration, the timing of teaching hours in all schools has been rescheduled from 6 AM to 9 PM with effect from May 2, 2022. However, the examinations already scheduled by various Boards/Councils continue as usual.” Will stay.”

Sethi further said that since the government and government aided schools are located close to the homes of the students, there is no such danger due to the heat.

meanwhile, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a slight drop in maximum temperatures at many places in Odisha and Norwester or Kalbaishakhi has become active from today.

The government has said that the Learning Recovery Plan (LRP) prepared by the Odisha School Education Program Authority (OSEPA) will be conducted during this summer vacation.

This LRP is applicable for government and government aided schools. The education department notification states that students who are being promoted from class 3 to class 10 including new admissions and also class 11 students who will be promoted to class 12 will be covered under this scheme.
