Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Agarwal on Friday shared an update on e-scooter delivery. Bhavish took to Twitter to comment on the December delivery of the Ola electric scooter, “The company has shipped the vehicles to all the buyers.”
Ola Electric CEO said, “Some are in transit, most are already happening through RTO registration process at delivery centers near you.”
“The registration process took longer than we expected because the completely digital process is new for everyone,” he said.
Bhavish also thanked the RTO (Regional Transport Office) for its support during the holiday season.
“Thank you to all the RTOs who worked with us during the holidays for scaling up this new digital process. Lots of learning for us on different RTO systems, regulations in states. Will be faster with registration in future,” Bhavish said.
He also teased that the next purchase window for the Ola electric scooter will open very soon.
Bengaluru-based Unicorn, which delayed early deliveries from October to mid-December, is troubled by global chips shortages, and analysts have called an over-reliance on imported components.
When Ola started taking orders in September, it said that the deliveries would start in October, which was later extended to November and then till December 15.
