Ola offers upgrade for S1, S1 Pro suspension

Ola Electric is offering its existing customers the option to switch to the upgraded front fork design. The announcement comes at a time when the S1 Pro was first launched in late 2021 and several front suspension issues were surfacing online.

Visually, the fork features an additional bracing member on the bottom section.

Ola says that all S1 and S1 Pro customers have the option to upgrade to the new fork design, and will do so free of charge. The replacement will be done by appointment, starting March 22.

While recalls are common in the automotive industry, Ola has avoided using the term anywhere in its communication, and this move to replace a key component that it believes to be perfectly safe is rather unprecedented.

The S1 and S1 Pro use an unconventional single-sided front fork that comes from Ola’s supplier Gabriel, which also supplies suspension components to several leading Indian OEMs. The entry-level S1 Air opts for a conventional telescopic fork instead.
