Ola S1, S1 Pro electric scooter owners can upgrade front suspension under the recall

Ola Electric has been doing well in the Indian market with its electric scooter offerings namely S1 Air, S1 and S1 Pro. While the S1 Air comes with twin-tube telescopic front forks, the latter two are offered with monotube suspension, which was often in the news for suspension breakage issues. After receiving several complaints from consumers, Ola Electric has finally acknowledged the issue. Ola Electric has announced a recall to offer an improved version of the front suspension and the window for reservations for this recall will open from March 22. Ola has also confirmed that the upgrade will be offered at no extra cost.

The message shared by Ola said, “Recently there have been some concerns among the community regarding the safety of the front fork arm. We assure you that this is baseless. At Ola, all components of our scooters, including the front fork arm, are thoroughly tested under extreme conditions and engineered with a factor of safety comparable to the normal loads encountered on vehicles.

However, as part of our continuous engineering and design improvement process, we recently upgraded the front fork design to increase durability and strength even further. To ease any concerns you or any member of our community may have, we are offering our customers the option to upgrade to a new front fork. For a smooth and hassle-free experience, you can book an appointment at your nearest Ola Experience Center or Service Center before you leave. The upgrade will be free of cost and the appointment window will open from March 22. We will get back to you soon with a detailed process to book an appointment.”
