Old video of orchestra surprising conductor playing ‘Happy Birthday’ wins hearts online

We all love surprises. don’t we? A heart touching video is going viral again on the internet. An old video of Philadelphia Orchestra conductor, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, receiving a birthday surprise from his fellow musicians at a performance has resurfaced on the Internet. Originally shared on TikTok, the video has garnered over a million views on social media so far.

In the video, Nezet-Seguin was seen conducting a piece of music. At the same time, the musicians changed the song to a version of the theme “Happy Birthday to You”. To this, Yannick Nézet-Séguin was absolutely taken aback as he did not expect such a heartfelt gesture. The video was recorded at the All-City High School Music Festival on March 6, 2019, Nezet-Seguin’s 44th birthday.

The heartfelt post left social media users emotional. One user wrote, “He made me cry. I’ve seen it several times and cried every time. I remember my junior high and high school band teachers so fondly and I know part of my feelings stem from remembering those happy times from more than forty years ago, while another wrote, “So healthy! In a similar video, a Southwest Airlines crew member surprises the twin girls onboard. The viral video was shared on YouTube. The video begins with an announcement by the attendant to the girls, Sydney and Claire. They also find out that Claire is Sydney’s older sister as she was born a minute before him. On the count of three, the attendant instructs the other passengers to start singing the birthday song in unison.
