Chikmagalur, Karnataka:
KSRTC says that a woman gave birth to a child in a moving bus on the Bengaluru-Chikmagalur route with the help of a lady conductor of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).
The incident happened on Monday and both mother and child are healthy.
At around 1.25 pm, a pregnant woman started having labor pains near Udaipura Agriculture College. The woman conductor, identified as S Vasantham, asked the driver to stop the bus and asked the passengers to get down. He helped the woman to give birth in the bus.
Further, since the woman was financially weak, the crew of the bus collected Rs 1500 from the passengers of the bus and handed it over to the woman for her emergency expenses.
The woman was later taken by an ambulance to Shantagram Hospital and was provided necessary treatment.
