As long as AAP, BRS and TMC are united to keep Congress at bay, opposition unity is a dream that cannot come true, bringing smile on BJP’s face
At 10 am, a meeting of 16 opposition parties was held at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s Parliament office.
Even the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was present, which is not usually seen with the Congress. But just outside, around the same time, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders protested at the Gandhi statue.

The subject was general.
While the opposition parties led by Kharge decided to keep the pressure on by demanding a discussion on the Adani issue and formation of a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), the TMC accused the public money invested in LIC and SBI of being “looted by the central government”. was opposing TMC has come to know of Adani link in this. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) was also seen opposing the misuse of investigative agencies.
There seems to be no link within the opposition that binds them. Due to this, there is an atmosphere of happiness in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
mistrust factor
Behind the concept of opposition unity is fundamental mistrust. Congress calls TMC, BRS and AAP the ‘B team of BJP’. In turn, they accuse the Congress of being a game of loot.
For example, when K Kavita was demanding reservation for women at Jantar Mantar, a day before her Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioning, the Congress was conspicuous by its absence. The BRS and AAP have alleged that the Congress was not with them when the ED chased them. The Congress has accused these parties of helping the BJP to defeat the Congress during the elections.
Like during the Meghalaya elections, Rahul Gandhi Called TMC “scammers” and said they are earning money to help BJP. Against this backdrop, it is no surprise that none of these can come together under one umbrella.
cons dream
Sources say that the TMC wants to make another push for unity in the opposition ranks, but wants to stay away from the Congress. Meeting between TMC chief on March 17 Mamata Banerjee and Samajwadi Party Akhilesh Yadav Not likely to be just a courtesy call. Banerjee is expected to visit Delhi soon to meet non-Congress non-BJP chief ministers.
KCR of BRS in South India openly talks about how he wants unity without Congress. While the Congress is struggling to find ground in Telangana, it accuses KCR of targeting it for secretly helping the BJP.

The AAP recently held a Tiranga Yatra in Jaipur, clearly taking advantage of the furore over the Pulwama martyrs issue and the split within the Congress over it. The Congress has always accused the AAP of being a “vote katua” in elections in states where the Congress and the BJP are locked in a one-on-one fight.
As long as AAP, BRS and TMC are united to keep Congress at bay, opposition unity is a dream that cannot come true, bringing smile on BJP’s face.
