The AI program ChatGPT has passed tests, written news articles, and generated code. So perhaps it’s no wonder that “One Piece” writer Ichiro Oda has turned to it for inspiration.
The man behind the record-breaking manga that is often referred to as one of the most famous in the world seems to have found himself battling writer’s block in the past month.
“Hello. This is the writer. I can’t come up with a story for One Piece next week. Would you think of a story? A really good story, please,” he prompted the programme, according to a video that His staff posted on his website. Twitter account.
In seconds, ChatGPT introduces a story in which the protagonists meet new friends and fight new enemies, including the “Shadow King”.

The 100th volume of the series was published in France last year with 250,000 copies, rivaling many works that have won the prestigious Prix Goncourt literary prize.
The “One Piece” universe includes cultural and geographic references that give it a universal dimension, including ancient Egypt, Venice, and medieval Japan.
The engaging characters and modern themes of dangerous industrialization, racism, slavery and geopolitical intrigue add to the series’ appeal.
The makers hope the upcoming release of the Netflix series adapted from the “One Piece” universe will help it conquer new territory, bringing the story to the global streaming platform’s more than 200 million subscribers.
