OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro get OxygenOS 12 update

chinese smartphone maker, oneplus, is releasing a new stable update for oneplus 9 and 9 Pro globally. The update includes OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12. OxygenOS 12 brings new changes to the Android skin recently powered by Oppo. As per a GSM Arena report, the UI retains Oxygen OS even with this update, despite the recent merger of Oppo’s Color OS team with OnePlus.

There are now some new design elements and animations that look new. The app icons are also updated with new textures and according to OnePlus “a design inspired by brand new materials and cohesive lights and layers.”

Several changes have been made to the OnePlus shelf. There are more shelf card styles, and three new cards: the Earphone Control Card, the OnePlus Scout (universal search), and the OnePlus Watch Card for tracking your fitness stats.

The work-life balance feature is now available with the update, and it lets you switch between work and life modes using a quick setting. Each mode can be customized with app-specific notification settings, and each mode can be triggered by location, Wi-Fi network, or time.

The gallery has been updated to support the pinch-to-zoom layout as you scroll through the thumbnails. The Canvas Always On-display has also been updated with new styles, color lines and more fine-grained control of the colors and appearance.

However, make sure you proceed with caution as the update has already received some reports of loss of signal.
