New Delhi: State-run ONGC Is planning a joint venture with Hyderabad based renewable energy company greenco group to enter green hydrogen and the green hydrogen derivatives market.
The joint venture will develop green ammonia production and storage facility for export purpose. Leveraging GreenCo’s exclusive partnership with John Cockerill, the facility will have the capacity to produce one million tonnes of green ammonia per year through a 1.3 gigawatt (GW) green hydrogen plant.
The project will require approximately 6 GW of solar and wind power, along with Greenco’s pumped-hydro energy storage platform, to produce renewable energy round the clock, the companies said in a joint statement.
