Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro earpieces are IP54 rated for dust and water resistance

12.4mm Dynamic Driver, Active Noise Cancellation on Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro

The Oppo Enco Air 2 delivered pretty average performance for the price, and I have high hopes for the ‘Pro’ model. Some important changes have been made in the design, specifications and features of Enco Air 2 Pro. This includes silicone ear tips with in-canal fit and a large charging case.

That said, there are some similarities between the two models such as the earpiece stem design, touch areas for playback controls, and the glossy finish on the earpiece’s plastic and charging case. An interesting touch is that the ‘L’ and ‘R’ symbols on the earpiece are cut out for openings for the internal microphone. The earpieces are IP54 rated for dust and water resistance.

Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro is available in two colours, White and Grey. The white version looks great in my opinion, as it has obvious aesthetic similarities apple airpods pro, The charging case has a translucent upper panel, which I found attractive and unique. There is a USB Type-C port at the bottom of the charging case, the Oppo logo at the back and an LED indicator on the front. The size and shape of the case make it easy to carry in a pocket along with other items such as a wallet or smartphone.

The touch controls of the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro worked well for me. They are customizable using the Hemelody app (available for Android and iOS). Touch gestures allow you to control playback, invoke the default voice assistant on your smartphone, cycle through noise cancellation and hear-through modes, activate game mode, switch between two recently paired devices, and volume up. allows to adjust. This flexibility allowed me to take control of my listening experience without having to access my smartphone very often.

The top of the charging case has an interesting translucent panel, and the case itself is a convenient size and shape

The HeyMelody app shows the battery level for both the earpiece and the charging case. It lets you enable or disable ANC and transparency modes, and also activate the game mode for which it claims 94ms low-latency transmission. It lets you switch between three equalizer presets (called Enco Live sound effects), and update the earphones’ firmware. The app is very well designed, easy to use, and works flawlessly with the Enco Air 2 Pro.

The Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro has 12.4mm dynamic drivers, and uses Bluetooth 5.2 with support for the SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs. The earphones feature a frequency response range of 20-20,000Hz, and feature active noise cancellation and AI-based environmental noise cancellation that is claimed to provide superior audio on calls.

There’s also in-ear detection to play and pause playback when the earpiece is worn or removed, and that worked pretty well for me. Additionally, the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro supports fast pairing and can be used to control the camera shutter of your phone, provided you have an Oppo smartphone with ColorOS 11.3 or higher.

Even considering the price, the battery life of Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro was not very good. The earpiece lasted about three hours with ANC enabled and volume at about 60 percent level. The charging case charged them more than three times full from empty, for a total run time of about 12 hours per charge cycle. This is significantly less than what the OnePlus Buds Z2 has to offer.

Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro delivers impressive performance for the price

Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro delivers good sound quality. Listening to Get Away From Here by Netsky, the earphones had a strong, attacking sound that pleasantly maintained the detail and tempo of this track. The Sonic Signature felt reasonably balanced, though the tight and imposing bass felt a bit pronounced.

This helped bring out the character of this drum-and-bass track, while allowing the vocals and highs to move forward without overwhelming. Above all, the track sounded pleasant, and was pleasant to listen to even at 50 percent volume level, thanks to sharp and careful tuning.

Turning up the volume up to about 70 percent performed best in the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro. The noise-isolating fit and decent active noise cancellation definitely helped too. Slow tracks like You By MKG sounded catchy and cohesive at this volume level, with the tonality of the earphones particularly impressive for a true wireless headset in this price range.

The battery life of the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro is mediocre, but the sound quality and ANC performance make up for it

That said, going anywhere above the 80 percent volume level makes the music sound sharper and a little more aggressive. This can be a problem when listening outside and you need this level of volume, but in most cases, as long as the volume is at the proper level, you should be happy with a straight and crisp sound.

Active noise cancellation performance on the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro was pretty good, if not the best, for a TWS headset in this price range. It certainly makes for easy listening both indoors and out. This headset successfully managed to reduce many regular background noises, such as the rumble of ceiling fans or air conditioners, and some traffic sounds. With good passive noise isolation, it was able to nicely drown out most of the ambient sounds in the home or office.

The connection stability and call quality were good on the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro, and I didn’t face any issues during my time with these earphones. The connection between the earphones and the source device was stable and lag-free at a distance of up to 4 meters, even without a direct line between them. Game Mode made little difference in improving latency when playing mobile games, but at the cost of a slight decrease in sound quality.

Decision

Oppo’s audio product range in India has generally offered excellent value for money though some of the company’s recent launches such as Enco Air 2 Rather overall average. With the Enco Air 2 Pro, Oppo is back in form. This is a very good pair of true wireless earphones for the price, and comes with useful features like active noise cancellation and app support.

Above all, the sound quality on the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro is great, and coupled with good ANC, it is one of the best TWS headsets you can buy under Rs. 5,000 The only real drawback is the simple battery life, which puts it a bit behind being an excellent all-rounder. It might be worth considering the pricier OnePlus Buds Z2 If battery life is a major concern. Overall, if your priority is good ANC performance from the TWS headset, then the Oppo Enco Air 2 Pro wins my recommendation for this price segment.
