R.M.K. Group of Institutions in collaboration with Shankar IAS academy and The Hindu organised an orientation session on “Become a Bureaucrat” on Wednesday.
According to a press release, the event was held with the aim of inspiring students to pursue careers in the Indian bureaucracy and to provide them with insights from professionals in the field.
Sathish Kumar Dogra, retired IPS officer and former Director General of Police in Tamil Nadu, discussed how one can achieve success and make a mark by becoming a civil servant. He outlined seven key components essential for realizing the dream of joining the civil services: vision, faith, hard work, discipline, perseverance, planning, and focused success.
Poo.Ko. Saravanan, IRS, Deputy Commissioner – Customs at Chennai International Airport, shared his personal journey from being an engineering graduate to becoming a civil servant.
S. Sangeetha, IDAS, Deputy Controller of Defence Accounts, Chennai, highlighted how clearing the UPSC exams can open doors to high-level positions right from the start of one’s career, the release said.
