NEW DELHI: Apart from those whose exams were canceled due to technical glitches or center issues, National Testing Agency ,NTA) has allotted the date of August 30 to around 30,000 candidates for reasons like clash of dates with other tests, request to add subjects, date change due to health reasons, city change due to personal reasons and natural calamity.
Over 1.1 lakh candidates will take the exam on Tuesday, the last day of the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG).
The examination began on July 15 and went into inclement weather in the subsequent two phases of the six-stage undergraduate entrance examination for 92 universities as the Center failed to maintain safety protocols including bad weather and suspected sabotage.
According to NTA, around 12.04 lakh candidates appeared for the first five phases of CUET-UG 2022.
A total of 15 lakh candidates had registered for the exam.
As per the data received by TOI on the last day of the exam, around 80,000 candidates would be appearing for the exam due to the cancellation of the exam in the first phases. NTA has also accepted the request of 1,250 cases for change of dates due to clash of examinations.
In addition, 23 candidates were allowed to add subjects, 17,707 candidates were allowed to change date, city and center due to other reasons and 787 candidates were allotted on August 30 who could not take the exam earlier due to natural calamity. could give.
“My exam was scheduled on August 20 and 24 in Gwalior. However, I had to go to Tripura on 16th and 17th August for my migration and transfer certificate and to Guwahati on 24th and 25th August for the skill test. NTA changed the date to August 30. Otherwise I would never be able to take the exam. Testing,” said Santosh Singh Tomar.
“I had earlier chosen Guwahati as my centre. I am from a remote area of Tripura, about 80 kms from Agartala. But due to personal reasons I came back home and cannot go to Guwahati now to take the exam due to financial reasons. I am happy that my exam has not only been rescheduled, but they have also allowed me to appear in Agartala,” said a candidate on the condition of anonymity.
While all the subjects opted by several candidates who received the updated admit card were listed, the NTA said that the candidates need to write only those papers for which they faced technical issues.
“Instructions in this regard will also be displayed to the candidates concerned during the examination on August 30, 2022. It is also mentioned in the admit card,” said NTA Director General Vineet Joshi.
The exam is being conducted in 489 exam centers located in 259 cities across India and in 13 languages.
