Police told 919 liters of ID liquor, 245 kg of black jaggery, 17 cylinders, 15 vehicles seized
East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh:
Andhra Pradesh Police on Wednesday arrested 44 people from eight villages in East Godavari district and seized 900 liters of illicitly distilled (ID) liquor and 245 kilograms (kg) of black jaggery.
According to an official statement by the police, a total of 29,750 liters of jaggery was also destroyed.
“Eight teams of 400 personnel of East Godavari Police and Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) conducted a massive cordon and search operation in eight villages and destroyed 919 liters of ID liquor, 245 kg of black jaggery, 17 cylinders, 15 vehicles, 29,750 Washed liters of jaggery and arrested 44 people,” the police informed in a tweet.

In addition, the police informed that the families of liquor makers are being identified as their livelihood so that they can be provided alternative employment through the Parivartan program and they can be pulled out of illegal occupation.
