Criticizing the security arrangements, he said that it seems that the security agencies are taking a nap.
“If such attacks continue, not only Chinese but other foreign investors will be forced to review their role in Pakistan,” he said.
There were reports of a large number of Chinese workers leaving Pakistan after the attack on social media.
A Chinese source denied such reports, saying it was a regular movement of Chinese workers and citizens living in Pakistan on a weekly flight from Karachi that was presented as an “escape” by some.
However, the source said that the terrorist attacks affect the confidence of the Chinese community living here.
The cybercrime wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said the tweet, which claimed that thousands of Chinese were leaving Karachi airport due to threats, was a “baseless and panic-provoking video tweet”.
FIA Cyber Crime Sindh chief Imran Riaz told the newspaper that action would be taken against the tweeter after the investigation is completed.
At a media conference in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman lijian zhao expressed hope that “the conspiracy of terrorist forces to undermine the mutual trust and cooperation of the two countries will not succeed”.
He said that the Chinese side will conduct a full investigation with Pakistan, reveal the truth, bring the criminals to justice and explain to the people of both the countries.
