Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif And his brother Nawaz SharifLocal media reported that the Pakistan Muslim League-N supremo agreed to hold the next general election on time.

The brothers also agreed that the current coalition government would complete its constitutional term.
The Pakistan PM, who was in London to attend the state funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II, held a three-and-a-half-hour long meeting with Nawaz Sharif and discussed several issues related to the country.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf President Imran KHANThose who have repeatedly called for the next general election, said they could not wait any longer and would “call the public” if their demands were not met.
Geo News quoted sources as saying that the two leaders discussed changes in the Punjab government during the meeting and Hamza Shahbaz’s name was also considered among other possible candidates for the same.
Sources said that during the meeting, discussions related to important appointments were also held in November.
According to Geo News, despite being present in London, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif and Communications and Broadcasting Minister Maryam Aurangzeb did not participate in this important meeting.
Earlier this month, speaking during a public meeting in Faisalabad, the former prime minister had slammed the government, saying it was delaying elections to appoint an army chief of its own and if “the army’s A patriotic chief comes”, he will not spare the current rulers.
Expressing regret over the impact of the floods in Pakistan, the former Prime Minister said that the 2010 floods and the current floods had caused great devastation especially in Sindh.
He said that the economic impact of the floods would be seen in the winter season. “Tell me (…) Do they have a solution? Exports are falling, credit is rising, remittances are falling (…) Your ability to lend is decreasing.”
“The economy is shrinking while unemployment is rising,” Khan said, adding that such high inflation – which stood at 27.3 per cent in August – “has never been seen before in the history of Pakistan”.
