Actress-model Pamela Anderson is set to make her Broadway debut with the long-running production “Chicago”.

The 54-year-old star, best known for shows like “Baywatch” and “Home Improvement”, will take the stage at Broadway’s Ambassador Theater during the musical’s limited eight-week run from April 12 to June 5, reports Deadline.

Anderson will play Roxy Hart, a 1920s housewife and dancer who murders her boyfriend after threatening to leave her.

She hires a criminal lawyer to evade punishment and helps deceive the public, the media, and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by making shocking headlines.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of the work of Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon. Ann Rinking too. Playing Roxy Hart is a dream come true,” Anderson said in a statement.

“Performing Fos, you don’t have time to get into your mind. You can dance, sing, and think at the same time. There’s a freedom, there’s an irresistible joy in knowing that it’s all about the work.” It’s in. Playing Roxy Hart is a lovely escape for me,” she said.

The role of Roxy was first introduced by Gwen Verdon in a 1975 Broadway production.

The show was revived in 1996 with the role of Ann Rinking. It won six Tony Awards at that time.

Since then, Roxy’s shoes have been filled with stars like Mel B, Christie Brinkley, Robin Givens, Melanie Griffith, Marilu Heiner, Brandi Norwood, Lisa Rinna, Brooke Shields, Ashley Simpson, Michelle Williams and Rumer Willis.

Renée Zellweger famously played the role in the 2002 film, which won the Oscar for Best Picture.

Anderson recently announced a Netflix documentary that will share her side of the story about her infamous sex tape with ex-husband Tommy Lee.
