Pamela, wife of veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra, passed away in Mumbai on Thursday morning. She was 74 years old and reportedly passed away due to age related issues. Amitabh Bachchan wrote on his blog, “First days are always the day of expectations and unknown elements.. and today’s first day was no different. In a wonder.. and topping, the very first scene of the film and a demanding appearance.” ‘

He further added, “In the midst of trying to achieve… suddenly comes the news of Yash Chopra’s wife Pamela Chopra passing away… and life comes to a standstill! Spent so much with her and making films and music Meetings and out and home get-togethers.. all went in one breath.. and one by one they all left us.. all went with happy times. Following Pamela Chopra’s death, the family issued a statement confirming the news of her death and revealing that the funeral would take place at 11 am.

“With a heavy heart, the Chopra family wishes to inform that Pamela Chopra, 74, passed away this morning. Her funeral took place today at 11 a.m. in Mumbai. We are grateful for your prayers and the family is at this moment of deep sadness and reflection.” I would like to request privacy,” the statement read.

According to a report in Indian Express, Pamela Chopra was hospitalized for 15 days for pneumonia. “She died today. She was on ventilator for 15 days at Lilavati Hospital. He had pneumonia,” Dr Prahlad Prabhudesai told the publication.
