Perth Hotel apologizes after Kohli’s post on privacy violation

Hours after Indian batsman Virat Kohli described a “horrific” experience he had to endure during his stay in Perth for the ongoing T20 World Cup, the hotel – Crown Towers in Perth – has come out with a statement that said Everyone involved in this incident has stood up.

The hotel also said that they are working with the Indian men’s cricket team and the ICC.

“We apologize unconditionally to the guest involved and will continue to take necessary steps to ensure that this remains an isolated incident. Crown has taken immediate steps to rectify the issue. “Crown is conducting an investigation with a third party contractor and will take necessary steps to ensure that this type of incident does not happen again. Earlier in the day, Kohli posted a video on his Instagram feed sharing that when he was not there, someone broke into his room and displayed all his belongings and wardrobe.

Kohli called it a breach of privacy and said that no one should be treated as an “object” for entertainment.

Kohli wrote, “I understand that fans are very happy and excited to see their favorite players and are excited to meet them and I have always appreciated it. But this video here is horrifying and it made me feel about my privacy I feel so crazy.” Instagram post.

“If I can’t have privacy in my hotel room, where can I really expect any personal space?? I’m not okay with this kind of bigotry and complete invasion of privacy. Please respect people’s privacy and don’t treat them as an object for entertainment,” he said.

The in-form batsman has so far played three matches in the 2022 T20I World Cup matches and scored 156 runs.
