Petrol, and Diesel Prices on October 12: A slight decline was seen in the price of crude oil in the international market today. Around 6 am on Thursday, WTI crude was being sold at $ 83.15 per barrel. At the same time, Brent crude has also come down to $ 85.57 per barrel. Oil marketing companies in the country have released the latest prices of petrol and diesel. In India, fuel prices are revised every morning at 6 am. Before June 2017, price revision was done every 15 days.
Indian oil companies have kept the petrol and diesel prices on Thursday, October 12, in all major cities almost at the same level with minor tweaks. These, however, vary from state to state due to value-added tax (VAT), freight charges, local taxes, etc.
In Maharashtra, petrol is being sold at an increase of 40 paise and diesel by 39 paise. In West Bengal, the price of petrol is increasing by 44 paise and that of diesel by 41 paise. The price of petrol and diesel is also increasing in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh. On the other hand, there is a very slight decline in the prices of petrol and diesel in some other states including Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
At present, petrol in Delhi is being sold at Rs 96.72 a litre while diesel is being sold at Rs 89.62 a litre. Whereas in Mumbai, petrol is available at Rs 106.31 and diesel at Rs 94.27 per litre. While petrol in Kolkata is Rs 106.03 and diesel is Rs 92.76 per litre. On the other hand, petrol is being sold at Rs 102.63 and diesel at Rs 94.24 per litre in Chennai.
