Meanwhile, the All India Unorganized Workers and Employees Congress on Monday staged a protest against the government over the steep hike in the prices of petrol and diesel.
Hundreds of protesters raised slogans against the Center, blaming it for the “sharp” rise in oil and gas prices.
Its president Udit Raj said that the BJP government has increased the prices of petrol, diesel, CNG, PNG and even domestic gas cylinders after the assembly elections are over in five states.
During the protest, the agitators made fun of the central government by garlanding cylinders and motorcycles.
Congress supporters involved in the protest said that it is becoming difficult for the common people to survive amid such high inflation.
The continuous rise in the prices of fuel and natural gas has broken the backbone of the public, as the rates of petrol and diesel are increasing every day, which is having a massive impact on other commodities and daily consumables are becoming costlier, Subhransh Rai, Spokesperson of the organization said.
The protest was part of the Congress’ three-phase campaign “Mehngai-Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” against the Modi government.
