Petrol, diesel prices: Fuel rates hiked, petrol crosses Rs 110 in Hyderabad

Petrol and diesel prices across the country continued to rise for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday.

In Delhi, petrol and diesel prices hiked from 0.35 105.84 per liter and 94.57 per liter respectively. Petrol and diesel prices increased for the fourth consecutive day 0.35 in the national capital.

Petrol price hike in Mumbai from 0.34 111.77 while the price of diesel increased by from 0.37 102.52.

The price of petrol and diesel has gone up 106.43 per liter and 97.68 per liter respectively in Kolkata, West Bengal. Petrol and Diesel Price in Chennai 103.01 per liter and 98.92 per liter respectively.

In Bangalore, petrol is available 109.53 per liter and on diesel 100.37 and now in Hyderabad one liter of petrol is available 110.09 and diesel price 103.08 for one liter diesel.

This is the 16th hike in petrol prices and 19th in diesel prices since the end of the three-week long gap in rate revision in the last week of September.

While the price of petrol is already up in most parts of the country Diesel prices have crossed the 100-a-litre level in a dozen states/UTs including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Kerala, Karnataka and Ladakh.

Oil companies started raising auto fuel prices a week ago. The break in prices on October 12 and 13 came after seven days of continuous rise. Today, after two days of stagnation, the prices were increased for the fourth consecutive day.

Being a net importer of oil, India keeps petrol and diesel prices at par with international prices.

The jump in international oil prices ended a three-week hiatus in rates for petrol on September 28 and diesel on September 24.

Since then, diesel rates have increased 5.6 per liter and petrol price hiked 4.30 liters.

Earlier, the price of petrol was increased by 11.44 liters per liter between May 4 and July 17. diesel rate hiked 9.14 per liter during this period.
