Petrol, Diesel Prices Today: There was no change in the prices of petrol and diesel on Saturday, December 11. Earlier, the Delhi government had reduced the Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol from 30 per cent to 19.40 per cent. As a result, petrol prices in the national capital declined by Rs 8.56 per liter from Thursday. A liter of petrol now costs Rs 95.41 from Rs 103.97, however, diesel prices in Delhi were kept unchanged at Rs 86.67.

Petrol and diesel prices in metro cities are as follows:

State-run oil refiners such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum revise fuel rates on a daily basis, taking into account crude oil prices and rupee-dollar exchange rates in international markets. Any change in the prices of petrol and diesel is effective from 6 am every day.

Oil prices rose slightly on Friday and posted their biggest weekly gain since late August, easing concerns over the impact of the Omicron coronavirus pandemic on global economic growth and fuel demand, boosting market sentiment.

Brent and US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude benchmarks each rose nearly eight per cent this week, their first weekly gain in seven, even after a brief bout of profit-taking.
