Physical Efficiency in MP Police Recruitment with 50% Marks, Says CM Shivraj Chouhan

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday made a big announcement for the youth preparing for police constable posts. Speaking in the assembly, Chouhan said a massive recruitment drive would be conducted in the police department in the coming months, adding that physical efficiency would have 50% weightage.

The Chief Minister said that the government has also decided to bear the interest burden on farmers’ loans. Chief Minister Chouhan was speaking in response to the discussion on the motion of thanks presented on the Governor’s address on March 7.

During his two-hour reply, he said amidst uproar by opposition members that there would also be a physical test for candidates, and state-of-the-art equipment would ensure that there was no rigging in the process. The physical test will be 50% of your grade (PET). In his address, the Chief Minister gave details of the state government’s schemes and made many announcements.

Referring to the loan waiver scheme of the previous Congress government, Chouhan claimed that farmers were taken advantage of and as a result they became defaulters. The farmers who have not repaid the loans are burdened with interest on the loans, he said, adding that the state government will now bear it.

After the Chief Minister’s address, Speaker Girish Gautam passed the vote of thanks by voice vote.

The motion was introduced on 7 March. This was followed by a four-and-a-half hour debate in the House on different days, which was attended by members of the ruling BJP and the main opposition Congress. Speaker Gautam adjourned the house till 11 am on March 15 after the vote of thanks was passed.
