The KTM 250 Adventure is priced at Rs. 2.30 lakh (ex-showroom)

NS KTM 250 Adventure Key entry-level adventure bike KTM India, and is essentially a younger brother of the KTM 390 Adventure. KTM 250 Adventure is the most affordable KTM Adventure bike available for sale in India at a price of ₹ 2.30 Lakh (Ex-showroom). The bike looks similar to its elder brother the KTM 390 Adventure, and shares similar bodywork, chassis, cycle parts and wheels with only a few minor differences. The KTM 250 Adventure is powered by a 248.8 cc single-cylinder, which is shared with the KTM 250 Duke. The engine makes 29.5 bhp at 9,000 rpm and 24 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm.

It might be an entry-level off-road adventure bike, but it’s keen to ride the trails

The KTM 250 Duke gets standard dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) and the off-road ABS mode allows the rider to keep ABS active on the front wheel only, locking the rear wheel if required. What the KTM 250 Adventure lacks is the KTM 390 Adventure’s more advanced electronics, which include IMU-powered cornering ABS, traction control as well as a bi-directional quickshifter.

The KTM 250 Adventure has great performance, but it has enough potential to keep you entertained

The 250 Adventure also gets 43 mm WP APEX USD forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. The front suspension has 170 mm of travel while the rear shock absorbers have 177 mm of travel. The bike rides on dual-purpose MRF tires on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels. Braking performance on the 250 Adventure comes from 320 mm discs upfront and 230 mm discs at the rear.   1. Looks a lot like its bigger brother, the KTM 390 Adventure. Has good road presence.
  2. The rev-happy engine, though its acceleration won’t intimidate new and less experienced riders.
  3. Suspension, brakes and wheels were all shared with the larger and more expensive 390 Adventure.
  4. Standard dual-channel ABS along with off-road mode allows switching to the rear wheel.
  5. High ground clearance of 200 mm, dual-sport tyres.
  6. Priced at ₹ 2.30 Lakh (ex-showroom), the KTM 250 Adventure offers an attractive price point.

Shortcoming

  1. Experienced riders may not like its performance.
  2. Minor vibrations were felt on the footpegs and handlebars at triple digit speed.
  3. The high-revving engine lacks low-end grunt.
  4. The seat height of 855mm may be a bit too long for some riders.
  5. Requires longer handlebars.
  6. Firm suspension provides a bouncy ride.
  7. The KTM 390 missed out on the Adventure’s more advanced electronics.
