The seat of the TVS Jupiter 125 is 65 mm longer than the 110 cc version. The low seat height and wide floorboards also make it quite accessible
professionals
- The motor of the TVS Jupiter 125 is peppy and tuned for better low and mid-range grunt. It is optimized for city riding and maximizing fuel efficiency. The scooter also impresses with its stability and handling, while the level of refinement remains the same. It also gets a segment-first gas-charged rear monoshock.
- The Jupiter 125 gets the largest under-seat storage capacity on a petrol scooter at 33 liters. And that’s enough room to store a lot more than knights. Two half-face helmets or smaller full-face helmets will fit easily. There’s also the usual hook and an open glovebox.
- The floorboard is quite large and not only accommodates the rider’s feet nicely but is also wide enough to carry things, which many owners will appreciate.
- While the wheelbase on the Jupiter 125 is similar to that of the Jupiter 110, this model is the longest in its class. And it has helped bring 65 mm longer seat on the 110 cc variant. This allows for better comfort for the rider and pillar in every possible way.
- The biggest change in the TVS Jupiter 125 is the replacement of the fuel tank. This is now placed under the floorboard with reinforcement all the way around and the fuel filler lid is placed on the apron. This not only makes for better reach but also a lower center of gravity.
Jupiter 125 doesn’t get the most emotive design language and might get a bit boring for young buyers
Shortcoming
- TVS Jupiter 125 left us wanting more in terms of looks. It is just as conservative as the 110 version and we feel it could have done a bit more bold lines. Thankfully, the colors are vibrant.
- The top-end of the Power Band lets you down on the Jupiter 125. The scooter takes a while to push between 60-80 kmph and after crossing the 84 kmph mark, it takes a while to breathe. While most owners won’t do that speed all day long, those looking for performance may find it a bit low.
- While the base variant is priced from a competitive ₹73,400, the top-spec disc-alloy variant costs ₹81,300 (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). This is quite high and some might find the Jupiter 125 a bit pricey, especially when compared to the segment leader – Suzuki Access 125.
