Platforms like CoWIN for vaccination, organ donation will be ready in 6 months

New Delhi: The government’s platforms for immunization, organ and blood donation of children are expected to be ready in six months, but it may take some more time to put the data on these platforms, a top official of the National Health Authority said here. Speaking on the sidelines of VivaTech 2022, RS Sharma, Co-Win Head and CEO of National Health Authority told PTI that there is a need to provide information related to child birth and immunization to parents of children to keep track of their vaccination schedule. and other agencies will also need to be populated. Their data like vaccination centers etc are ready for its use.

“We are building three different applications based on the same (Co-Win) architecture. I will not be able to say when it will be ready as it depends on their adoption. It will start working when Data will be put on them. The technology for all three (national immunization programme, blood and organ donation) will be ready in six months,” Sharma said. It is working on revamping Co-Vin to digitize the universal immunization program and organ donation system and connect a patient to nearby blood donors or blood banks based on blood group requirement.

“In the case of organ donation, we will digitize the system to deliver the service under the existing regulation. We will consider bringing the process of organ donation online to the extent that it can be done within the existing regulations. Donation by the committee Kind of like approval. The one who approves it can be done online. We are working on streamlining other related processes with the use of technology,” Sharma said.

He said that there is a lot of support from top level leaders in India to use technology for the good of the public and even to share it with other countries. More than 130 countries are in discussions with India for learning and adopting the Co-Win platform technology.
