PM has agreed to go to Karnataka to vote at least once a month: Yediyurappa

Veteran BJP leader BS Yediyurappa said on Saturday that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has agreed to his request to visit Karnataka, where the party aims to come back to power at least once a month for the 2023 assembly elections.

The former chief minister, who came to New Delhi on Friday to meet the party’s central leadership, said no force can stop the BJP from coming back to power in Karnataka.

“I had a detailed discussion with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party national president JP Nadda. He tried to know about the political situation in Karnataka. I have repeatedly requested the Prime Minister to visit the state and assured him that the BJP will win more than 140 seats (out of a total of 224) and come back to power. Talking to reporters here on his return from New Delhi, he said the Prime Minister is going to Mangaluru on September 2 and a big program is being planned to gather lakhs of people there.

“I have requested Modi ji to repeatedly visit different parts of the state at least once a month and he has agreed to it,” he said. I have also spoken to Nadda in this regard. We will strengthen the party and do everything possible. This was the first visit of a strong Karnataka BJP leader to the national capital after recently joining the party’s parliamentary board and central. Election Committee.

Yediyurappa said the state leaders would start a state-wide yatra in the next few days with an aim to strengthen the party, adding that no force can stop the BJP from coming back to power in Karnataka. “We are confident that people will bless us…Congress is dreaming of coming to power, but we will not give them a chance and the BJP will work unitedly to form the government,” he said.

On the allegation of 40 per cent commission against ministers and MLAs by the union of contractors in public works, Yediyurappa said, “Just because some fool is making such false allegations under someone’s influence, it cannot be true. Let them go to the Lokayukta and investigate it, we have no objection.

Alleging that Congress leader Siddaramaiah was deliberately getting this done, he said, “We will answer it (allegations) in the assembly… It will have no effect, people know these are false allegations.”
