Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude on Monday for all those people who are sharing their enthusiasm for his upcoming State Visit to the United States. PM Modi emphasised that such diverse support underlines the depth of the relationship between India and the United States.
“People from all walks of life including Members of Congress, thought leaders and others have been sharing their enthusiasm on my upcoming USA visit. I thank them for their kind words. Such diverse support underlines the depth of the India-USA relationship,” PM Modi said on Twitter.
The tweet by PM Modi came as hundreds of Indian-Americans gathered at around 20 iconic locations in the US and organized unity marches to send a message of welcome for PM Modi who will begin his State Visit to the US from 21 June, news agency PTI reported on Monday
“The Indian American community and major business stakeholders in various industries like energy, space, health, education, and IT, are really excited and optimistic all across the USA, about the historic visit of PM Modi,” said Aseem Mahajan, Consul General of Houston.
“We are receiving an overwhelming number of messages, welcoming PM Modi, from all across the country from elected officials, major business houses, and other Indian American organisations on a daily basis that are being shared on social media,” Mahajan said.
Frantic search for tickets
The reports from the US claimed that currently there is a frantic search for tickets for various Modi events in Washington DC and New York. The organisers of various events said that this reflects the popularity of the Indian Prime Minister.
PM Modi will visit the US from 21 to 23 June on an invitation of US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. He will become the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Joint Session of the US Congress twice on 22 June. US President will also host him for dinner on 22 June.
