PM Modi to address farmers during the program on Agri-Food Processing on Thursday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address farmers through video conferencing during the concluding session of the National Summit on Agriculture and Food Processing in Anand, Gujarat on December 16, the Prime Minister’s Office said on Tuesday.

According to the PMO, the summit focuses on natural farming. All necessary information will be provided to the farmers about the benefits of adopting natural farming methods, a statement said.

The PMO said that the government is committed to ensure increased productivity, so that farmers can maximize their agricultural potential.

“The government has initiated several measures to transform agriculture and increase the income of farmers. Efforts are on to promote and support initiatives for system stability, cost reduction, market access and better price realization to farmers, the statement said.

The PMO also talked about ‘Zero Budget Natural Farming’, which it says is a promising tool to reduce the dependence of farmers on procured inputs, and reduce the cost of agriculture by relying on traditional field based technologies. Which improves the health of the soil.

To emphasize such strategies and send a message to farmers across the country, the PMO said, the Gujarat government is organizing a national summit on agriculture and food processing with a focus on natural farming.

The three-day summit is being organized from December 14 to 16, 2021.
