PM Modi will flag off the world’s highest waterway cruise today

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate four boat community jetties at Sadpur, Chochakpur, Jamnia in Ghazipur district and Kanspur in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. Apart from this, the Prime Minister can see the foundation stone of five community ghats at Digha, Nakata Diyara, Badh, Panapur in East district of Bihar and Hasanpur in Samastipur district.

Inland Waterways Committed
The Prime Minister will inaugurate the Haldia Multi Terminal in West Bengal on Friday. The Haldia Multi-Cell Terminal under the Jal Marg Vikas Project has a cargo capacity of about three million tonnes per annum (MMTPA) and the berths are designed to work up to about 3000 deadweight tonnage (DWT).

A maritime skill development center will also be opened for brokerage in Croma. It will help in tapping the rich talent pool in the North Eastern region and provide better job opportunities in the fast moving logistics industry.

Apart from this, the Prime Minister also saw the foundation stone of a ship facility and an elevated road at Pandu Terminal in Guwahati. The ship repair facility at Pandu Terminal will save time as a ship can be towed to the repair facility in Kolkata which takes more than a month. Apart from this, there will also be a huge saving of money as the transport cost of the ship will also be saved.
