PM to inaugurate 5 AIIMS all over India

The Prime Minister is set to inaugurate Gujarat’s inaugural All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rajkot on Sunday. He will arrive at the Rajkot AIIMS in the afternoon and later deliver a speech at a gathering at the Race Course ground in the city during the evening. 

During his two-day visit to Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate multiple projects on Sunday across Dwarka and Rajkot districts.

1. In a social media post on X, PM Modi said, “Tomorrow is a special day for Gujarat’s growth trajectory. Among the several projects being inaugurated is the Sudarshan Setu, connecting Okha mainland and Beyt Dwarka. This is a stunning project which will enhance connectivity.”

2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to inaugurate the Signature Bridge connecting Okha and Beyt in the sacred town of Dwarka on Sunday. Spanning 2.5 kilometres, this bridge holds great importance for local inhabitants and pilgrims journeying to the revered Dwarkadhish Temple.

3. Commenced by the Centre in 2017 with a groundbreaking ceremony, the bridge’s purpose is to streamline access for devotees travelling between Okha and Bet Dwarka. Before its construction, pilgrims had to depend on boat transport to reach the Dwarkadhish Temple in Beyt, Dwarka.

4. According to the announcement, Prime Minister Modi is set to dedicate and lay the foundation stones for various development initiatives totalling over Rs. 4150 crore in Dwarka around 1 pm.

 

At the event, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate Gujarat’s inaugural All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Additionally, he will virtually dedicate four other AIIMS located in Bathinda, Punjab; Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh; Kalyani, West Bengal; and Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh. “Spread across 201 acres, Rajkot AIIMS is a world-class hospital with 720 beds, including ICU and super-speciality beds. On February 25, the prime minister will inaugurate 23 operation theatres, 30-bed AYUSH block and 250 beds of IPD. The remaining beds will be made available gradually,” said state Health Minister Rushikesh Patel.

5. At approximately 4:30 pm, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to inaugurate numerous development ventures valued at over Rs. 48,100 crore at the Race Course ground in Rajkot. As per an official statement, the bridge boasts a distinctive design, with a footpath embellished with verses from the Bhagavad Gita and images of Lord Krishna adorning both sides. Moreover, solar panels have been installed on the upper sections of the footpath, generating one megawatt of electricity.
