Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was among the party leaders wearing the cap.
new Delhi:
The saffron cap, worn by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the BJP’s recent election victory, debuted at the party’s parliamentary meeting today as several MPs were seen wearing the same cap.
Sources told NDTV that all 400 BJP MPs have been distributed caps along with a customized energy bar called “Energy Booster”.
The wrapper of the Energy bar had a picture of the prime minister.
The design of the cap is clearly inspired by the one worn in Uttarakhand and the “Brahma Kamal” or lotus flower that PM Modi wore on Republic Day. A thin patch of embroidery can be seen on the cap and BJP (Gujarati) is inscribed on it, along with the party’s lotus symbol.
Dushyant Singh, BJP MP from Jhalawar, Rajasthan, is pictured with an energy bar given by the BJP.
PM Modi put on a hat During a roadshow in Ahmedabad after the party won assembly elections in four states, including the politically crucial Uttar Pradesh, last month.
Sources told NDTV that the cap prepared by Gujarat BJP ahead of the PM’s visit was liked by party leaders, who ordered these caps and “energy booster” chocolates for all 400 MPs of the party.
The BJP parliamentary meeting was held at the Ambedkar International Center in the national capital.
