PNG price hike: IGL hikes rates by up to Rs 56.23 Check Revised Rates in Your City

PNG Price Hike: Piped Natural Gas (PNG) prices were hiked by Rs 50.59 per standard cubic meter (SCM) in NCT of Delhi by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) on Friday (August 5).

Domestic PNG retail prices have been increased with effect from August 5, 2022.

1. National Capital Territory of Delhi – Rs.50.59/- per SCM

2. Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad – Rs. 50.46/- per SCM

3. Karnal and Rewari – Rs.49.40/- per SCM

4. Gurugram – Rs.48.79/- per SCM

5. Muzaffarnagar, Meerut and Shamli – Rs.53.97/- per SCM

6. Ajmer, Pali and Rajsamand – Rs.56.23/- per SCM

7. Kanpur, Hamirpur and Fatehpur – Rs.53.10/- per SCM

City gas distributors have been raising prices periodically since October 2021, when domestic as well as international gas prices began to climb as economies recover from the pandemic-induced slowdown across the world.

Earlier this week, Mumbai gas distributor Mahanagar Gas (MGL) also announced a second price hike of Rs 6 per kg for CNG and Rs 4 per unit for piped natural gas with immediate effect.

The price revision comes amid rising prices of natural gas at source for drilled gas internationally as well as domestically.

Rising prices over the past several weeks have forced suppliers and distributors to cut industrial supplies. This is the sixth hike in prices since April this year.
