Polestar debuted a bold and ambitious video during Super Bowl 2022 where it took potshots at Tesla and Volkswagen
The Polestar 2 is the Tesla Model 3’s competitor
Volvo’s Polestar brand made its debut at the Super Bowl today with an ad that touted the Polestar 2, but it did so quite clearly at the expense of Tesla and Volkswagen. The 30-second space dubbed “No Compromise” spawned a slew of claims promising “no epic voiceovers, no empty promises and no hidden agenda”. Interestingly, this takes a direct blow at Tesla Supermo and the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, by claiming “no winning Mars” and it hasn’t deterred Volkswagen from saying “no Dieselgate” while promoting the Polestar 2. .
Polestar 2 is a new player in the EV space, but the Polestar brand has been around for a while. It has close ties to both Volvo and the Geely Group and is one of the first cars to be powered by Google’s Android automotive operating system. It is also the first car to have a dedicated web browser, with the Vivaldi browser being made available for the Android automotive platform.

0 notes
Polestar is a very small brand right now, but it has at least three more vehicles in the pipeline. It is also developing its own unique electric motor which it will not share with any other brand in the realm of Volvo or Geely. Probably the idea here is to create awareness for the brand as the US is one of the largest and wealthiest EV markets in the world and a spot during the Super Bowl attracts a lot of people and builds virility.
