When the Tri-Services Court of Inquiry (CoI) probing the crash of the Mi-17V5 helicopter near Coonoor in the Nilgiris – which claimed the lives of the Chief of Defense Staff and his crew – ruled out ‘any mechanical failure’ ‘Sabotage’ is denied. or negligence’, one fails to understand why the Tamil Nadu Police should continue with the investigation (p. 1, January 17). The primary responsibility of investigation rests with the defense forces. now what happened? Will the defense forces accept the police findings?
