Popular American blogger makes authentic Aloo Tikki Chaat, leaves Indians drooling

Nothing can beat the tangy taste of Indian street food. Be it pani puri, cheela, chana chaat or jhalmuri, just one bite is needed to fall in love with these dishes. With street vendors lining the streets serving fluffy bread pakodas with masala chai, it becomes almost impossible to stop here and taste these snacks. Crispy Golden Aloo Tikki Chaat is another street favorite that can make anyone go crazy over it. But it’s not us, but even American celebrity chef and blogger Eaton Barnath can’t get enough of aloo tikki chaat.

Proof? Well, US-based blogger Just came back from his trip to India and shared that he was “dreaming of aloo tikki chaat ever since I left the street food cart after eating it in India”. Hence, he decided to make some at home and was kind enough to share the recipe with us.

In an Instagram reel, the chef demonstrates the process of making the perfect Aloo Tikki Chaat.

He starts by peeling some potatoes and then cutting them into small pieces before washing them. The chef then boils the potatoes and adds Kashmiri chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, chaat masala and dry mango powder to them. He also adds breadcrumbs, coriander, green chillies, garlic and ginger before mixing everything well in a bowl. Potatoes are evenly mashed before making Eaton small cake Or make patties out of them using a scoop.

The chef coats each patty in a little corn flour before frying them until golden brown. Once the tikkis are prepared, Eaton makes mint chutney by adding some mint leaves, coriander leaves, ginger, garlic, salt, lemon and other spices to a blender.

Then he puts the tikki on a plate, pours a big dollop of curd over it and also pours mint and tamarind chutney. Some chopped onions and sev are also added to it. Cooking Looks absolutely delicious.

Eaton’s post garnered a lot of reactions on the forum. The Indians were particularly appreciative of the chef’s effort in making Aloo Tikki Chaat. “I love adding papdi as a bonus. Hahaha this is not authentic like you but has an extra crunch. Another person said, “I am coming to eat it now”.
