Porsche 911 Rough struggles through Indian roads. Here’s the truth

A video of a Porsche 911 Carreera is navigating a pit-raiddled road with difficulty in India and has gone viral and has created a debate about the feasibility of such high-end sports vehicles in the country. The car was maneuvering for a rough, dirty stretch near the flyover somewhere on the route between Delhi and Pune.

The widely shared video soon inspired many people to ask if such cars were suitable for Indian conditions. A post on X compared “people buying PS5 to play Ludo on it” sarcastically compared to the landscape.

The reality behind the drive, however, was quite different. Sirish Chandran, the editor of Automotive Veteran and Evo India Magazine, who was behind the wheel, clarified that the footage was not an unfortunate struggle, but part of a planned endurance test. He shared the video on Instagram with Overley Text: “911 driving in India (this is not for beginners).”

Mr. Chandran explained in an Instagram post that Drive was part of a broad road trip from Delhi to Pune, aimed at testing the capacity of Porsche 911 on Indian roads. The car was moved from Porsche Center Delhi, where it was shown at the Auto Expo, and operated in various areas to evaluate its actual world performance.

“Driving slowly is also a skill, if you want to survive in India, Mr. Chandran wrote, indicating the importance of adjusting driving techniques based on road conditions. He said that despite the challenging path, Porsche 911 performed exceptionally well.

They put 911 Carera through everything that they could find – from pits to speed breakers, from uneven surfaces to sharp highways – and she survived. “Not a puncture. Not a scratch. Not a racket. Not a warning light,” Mr. Chandran shared.

In a wide Facebook postMr. Chandran elected the first day of the journey (14 February), highlighted the major challenges. The team faced heavy traffic, leaving several speed breakers N route, and the condition of a mixed road in the entire road. The 20 -inch front of Porsche and the 21 -inch rear tire managed the area without important issues.

While the sports suspension of the car made a ride firm, its fine tund dumping system also ensured stability on uneven roads. The biggest concern, he said, there was a noise of tire, which many times dominated the premium Bose Sound System inside the car.

During the night drive, a standout feature of the car was HD-Matrix headlights, an alternative upgrade of Rs 6 lakh. Mr. Chandran described him as “unprecedented”, saying that he played an important role in improving visibility on India’s unexpected highways.

The journey also included a stop in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

Dheeraj test showcased that while Porsche 911 is designed for high performance driving, it can handle Indian roads when operated with care.
