Police on Thursday arrested a youth who set a post office on fire at Peringottukra in Thrissur district. The arrested person has been identified as Suhail alias Auto Suhail (42), a resident of Vadnapally.
According to the police, Suhail, wanted in several criminal cases, had reached the sub post office at Peringottukara on the night of February 2 to steal money from the locker. When he did not take the money, he put kerosene kept in the post office and set it on fire.
Several important documents, computers and a printer at the post office were destroyed, police said.
