PR Sreejesh, who is a triple Olympian with over 240 international appearances, was recently named FIH Goalkeeper of the Year for 2021.

Olympic bronze medalist India men’s hockey goalkeeper PR Sreejesh is in the running to win the prestigious World Sports Athlete of the Year award after being nominated for the honour.
The winner will be selected after an online voting process that begins on January 10 and ends on January 31.
Selected FIH Goalkeeper of the Year for 2021, Sreejesh – a triple Olympian with over 240 international appearances – has enjoyed an extraordinary 12 months, helping his team claim a historic bronze at the Tokyo Games. Best form ever.
If Sreejesh wins, he will be the second hockey player in the country after the women’s team captain Rani Rampal to win the title.
Rani became the first hockey player to win this award in 2020.
A total of 24 athletes have been nominated for this award.
From the list of 24, the 10 best, as measured on 23 January, will go to the finals, for which voting will continue until 31 January.
