Coimbatore: Inspector General of Police ,IGP, Pradeep Kumar Took over as the Commissioner of Police of Coimbatore city on Saturday evening.
He accepted the guard of honor at the Municipal Police Commissionerate.
Later addressing the media, Pradeep Kumar said that the city police will give priority to the safety of women and children. Crime against women, children and senior citizens will be given priority. Steps will be taken to reduce road accidents.
“We will take necessary steps to maintain law and order position in the city. We have good police teams in the city,” said Pradeep Kumar.
He said he would focus on organized crimes including job rackets, money cheating and property crimes. Strict action will be taken against anti-social elements in the city. I hope we are able to bring some positive change in the city with the cooperation of the people of Coimbatore,” said Pradeep Kumar.
