Based on a complaint by PhD scholar Tamal Dutta, Hare Street police station has registered a case against Professor Arindam Bhattacharya of Zoology Department, a senior police official said.
A case was registered against Mr. Bhattacharya under sections 505 (1B) (with intent to intimidate or intimidate the public), 506 (threatening to cause death or grievous hurt) and 120B (punishment of offender) of the IPC. Conspiracy), Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Murlidhar Sharma said.
Police said the professor has not been taken into custody yet.
