TeaHe distributed the item by the e-commerce company that we ordered in a large carton. There was another box inside and the item was wrapped in a plastic bag.
Today, we can order anything from grocery accessories and phones to clothes and shoes, to deliver to the door. Life has been completed since our childhood. One thing that has changed is packaging and material that needs to be dealt or recycled.
When we were children, a line of hawkers was to bring our goods to our door. Steel utensils or cloth bags were used to collect items, and there were no plastic bags.
Now we have e-commerce vendors who give eggs, breads and even vegetables in packets. Kiosk in the mall sells corn in a paper cup with a plastic spoon. Any major social phenomenon sees a large amount of garbage generation – water bottles, plastic cups and spoon, and wrappers. In offices, bottled bottled water is used, producing millions of waste plastic bottles.
Settlement of plastic and other packaging is a responsibility that some of us proceed correctly. I have seen the mattress, clothes and pictures on the road and dump garbage. Basti -six million tonnes of garbage is made alone every year in India, of which only 70% is collected and a small portion is also treated. We rely on landfill and waste burning, creating severe environmental and health concerns.
Mother Earth is crying for a viable solution. One day can go about forever. There was no paper or plastic packaging, and there was no problem to dispose of waste. While we have gone a long way, and are a fast developing country, sometimes one feels indifferent to the time when life was simple and the environment was less polluted.
While the state and national bodies are implementing various measures to deal with the problem of waste, is there something we can do, as conscious and concerned citizens?
Small task
The following small tasks come to mind:
In all offices, educational institutions, shops and public places, and social programs, plastic bottles with water dispenser, using low plastic, especially single-utilized plastic, and to avoid plastic cutlery (I take my steel water bottle, lunchbox and spoon to work with me.
Reducing the use of e-commerce and packaging, selecting low packaging products, buying fresh vegetables in farmers’ markets, and using clothes shopping bags.
Recruitment and reuse of fabrics, furniture and other articles. My mother is making birds and dolls with old unusable clothes, giving them gifts to family and friends. I reproduce my saree in kurtas or donate them. Our old furniture, with fresh polish pat, has been reused at home or with my home for years. While a famous line tells us that fashion changes until you go home with a new organization, we should not be to adopt “fast fashion”. Studies have shown that global textile production is likely to be triple using rare resources and knee landfills by 2050.
Infection from paper toms and newspapers in e-books and e-nuspapper; Let us “I am a paper book type!” Dialogue.
After every multi-storey building and a vermicomost pits in the house, for the disposal of merged flowers and kitchen waste. It is necessary to reduce food waste, why not eat remaining or give them to help?
To separate waste in dry and wet to enable proper disposal by waste managers
There can be more innovative and practical ways to reduce things, reuse and recycling, which can reduce waste. Mahatma Gandhi’s words, “The future depends on what you do today,” reminds us that our actions have set the foundation of tomorrow and have influenced our future generations. If we do not want our future humans to be buried under the garbage mountains and struggle with health problems, then we should now do better.
