Surat: Member of youth congress Picketed outside Minister Harsh shanghviOffice in City Light Area on Wednesday. The protesters tried to burn the minister’s effigy but the police took them into custody before that. This was followed by a scuffle between the police and the protesting leaders after which 35 people were detained. He was later released from the police station.

Police made arrangements at Sanghvi’s office to prevent any untoward incident and when Congress workers took out the effigy, the police snatched it and broke it before taking the workers into custody.
