Pune-Bound IndiGo Flight Diverted To Nagpur After Medical Emergency Onboard; death of passenger

An IndiGo flight carrying passengers from Ranchi-Pune made an emergency landing at the Nagpur airport after one of the passengers had a medical emergency, according to an airport official on Friday. He claimed that around 10 pm on Thursday, flight 6E 672 was diverted to Nagpur airport and the passenger was taken to the hospital, where he was later confirmed dead.

“The passenger was unconscious on board the aircraft and was taken to a hospital for medical assistance, but unfortunately did not survive,” an airline spokesperson said in a statement.

Recently, there have been many cases of death of passengers during the flight. Earlier, the Delhi-Doha IndiGo flight had to make an emergency landing in Karachi, Pakistan due to a medical emergency. The ailing passenger was then provided medical assistance at the airport, where he was declared brought dead. After this the flight was kept at Jinnah International Airport for about 5 hours and then allowed to fly back to Delhi.

Earlier too, a Madurai-Delhi Indigo flight had to make an emergency landing at the Indore airport after a 60-year-old passenger fell ill midway through the journey. After landing, the passenger was taken to a hospital for medical assistance but was declared brought dead by the medical staff. It was learned that the passenger was suffering from heart disease due to which he died.
