Punjab: AAP receives over 2.8 lakh responses within 4 hours for choosing CM candidate

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) received over 2.8 lakh responses within four hours of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal releasing a number where people could send the name of the Punjab chief ministerial candidate of their choice.

Earlier today, Kejriwal announced that people can message and call the number 70748 70748 to send their suggestions on who should be the chief ministerial candidate from AAP for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections till 5 pm on January 17. .

“This is probably the first time since 1947 in India that a party is asking the public to tell us who should be the face of the Chief Minister. You can give your suggestions by calling 70748 70748 or via WhatsApp messaging. January 17 at 5 pm. Based on the suggestions, we will select our CM candidate. My personal choice is not important. Public’s choice is important,” he said at a press conference in Chandigarh.

“Bhagwant Mann is very dear to me. He is like my younger brother. I was also sitting in the room saying that we should make Bhagwant Mann the chief ministerial candidate, but he said no, we should ask the people. To take this decision It is a ritual. The chief ministerial candidate should be stopped behind closed doors,” Kejriwal said.

“It is almost certain that AAP will come to power in Punjab. I would like to request all my volunteers to give one last push. I would like to request the voters of Punjab to vote a lot. We need 80 seats instead of 60 seats. Should win more seats,” he added.

Polling for the assembly elections in Punjab is to be held on February 14 and the counting of votes will take place on March 10.
