Punjab and Haryana HC judges should be reimbursed for driver, security and internet. What new rules say

Gurugram: The retired Chief Justice and Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, or their living husband, now deserves a monthly reimbursement of Rs 50,000 and 45,000 respectively to attach domestic assistance or drivers. It comes with an important step to support retired judicial authorities, retired Chief Justice and Judges Domestic Assistance (s) and the implementation of rules of other benefits.

They will also get a monthly allowance of Rs 15,000 for mobile or landline expenses, internet fees, secretarial services and security arrangements.

Notified on 30 May and published in the Government of Haryana Gazette, these rules promise many facilities for retired Chief Justice and Judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court as well as their husband and wife, which ensure their post-retirement support.

The rules implemented under the right to Article 229, read with Article 231 of the Constitution of India, came into force to publication.

Rules prepared the provisions for domestic help, drivers, secretarial assistance, security and telecommunications facilities, which are all funded by the High Court.

As an alternative, they can request two employees of the final class service of the High Court, including a driver, they can be provided.

In such a case, reimbursement is adjusted – for one employee and in the case of two. The second is subject to the conscience of the availability of Chief Justice and Employees.

However, these benefits are not available if retired judicial officer or spouse is getting similar facilities through any other appointment or assignment.

To ensure that the benefits maintain coordination with inflation, both zodiac signs will see a 5 percent annual increase.

Rules also allow flexibility to select domestic assistance or drivers, empower retired people or their spouse to choose personnel at their discretion. However, benefits are conditional at not availing the same facilities from any other High Court or assignment.

“These rules are available to the retired Chief Justice (s)/Judge (s) and/or his spouse,” was issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, “these rules are not available.
