The Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday announced its ninth list of candidates for next month’s Punjab Assembly elections. With this, the party has announced its candidates for 109 out of 117 assembly seats. The state will go to the polls on February 14 and the counting of votes will take place on March 10. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is eyeing to grab power from the ruling Congress in the northern state.
According to the statement, the candidates will be Dinesh Dhal from Jalandhar North, Jagtar Singh from Samarla, Hardeep Singh Mundian from Sahnewal, Amandeep Kaur Arora from Moga and Amit Ratan Kotfatta from Bathinda Rural. Meanwhile, in a separate statement, AAP’s Punjab unit president and MP Bhagwant Mann claimed that his party will form the next government in the state.

Mann said, “When AAP comes to power, the loot of the state exchequer will stop, Punjab’s treasury will be filled and its money will be used for the welfare of the people and Punjab.” He said that if AAP comes to power, no school in Punjab will remain without teachers and no patient will die due to lack of doctors, quality treatment and medicine.
Criticizing the Congress-led government in Punjab for its policy of misleading the people through announcements, the AAP leader said, the people of Punjab are grateful to the Election Commission as the Model Code of Conduct came into force from Saturday. Now new announcements, lies and campaign hoardings will have to be dealt with. Mann hoped that the assembly elections would be held with complete transparency and campaigning would be based on issues.
